History of Section Paloise
The Pau rugby team is a symbol of Béarn culture and heritage. Traditional Béarn songs are very popular among fans and the team's anthem is Honhada. Plus, the team's mascot is called Bearnie!
Since the club's formation way back in 1902, the Pau rugby team has been hugely successful. They have been crowned as the champions of France three times (in 1928, 1946 and 1964) and they won the European Rugby Challenge Cup in 2000. Plus, the Pau rugby team has also won the Challenge Yves du Manoir in 1939 and 1952, the French Cup in 1997 and the Pro D2 title in 2015.
Ever since the Section Paloise rugby team won the Pro D2 title in 2015, the side has remained in the Top 14. Plus, during this period, the Pau rugby team has also regularly represented France in the European Rugby Challenge Cup, the same competition that they won back in 2000.
