Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne

Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne, also commonly known as SU Agen or Agen, is a French rugby union team that competes in the Pro D2, France’s second division of rugby union.

The club was established in 1908 and, despite a rocky start, they were able to secure their first championship win in 1930. Following this, in 1932, the club won the Challenge Yves du Manoir. They also finished as the competition’s runners-up the year after.

The club’s success continued into the next decade, where they won the Coupe de France in both 1943 and 1945. They also won the French Championship for the second time in 1945.

By the 1960s, the Agen rugby team was regularly challenging for titles and the club won three championships in the decade. Following this, the 1980s was another triumphant decade for the club. They won two French Championships and finished as runners-up on two more occasions.

Since 2002, SU Agen have mainly played in the Pro D2. In 2010, they became champions for the first time. In both 2015 and 2017, they were promotion play-off winners, gaining promotion to the Top 14

SU Agen has enjoyed a fair share of success over the years. With plenty of notable victories under their belts, we’re excited to see what lies ahead for the Agen rugby team.
