Semi Radradra to team up with Bok World Cup winner in Japan
Fiji centre Semi Radradra has signed for Japan Rugby League One outfit Shizuoka BlueRevs ahead of next season.
The 33-year-old brought his two-year stint at Lyon to a close at the end of the Top 14 season, scoring a try in the final round of their campaign against Racing 92.
He will now join a BlueRevs side captained by South African World Cup winner Kwagga Smith that finished fourth in Japan’s division one this season, losing to the Kobelco Kobe Steelers in the quarter-finals.
Radradra is no stranger to Japan, as he was part of the Fijian Olympic sevens team what won gold at the 2021 games.
“It’s an honour to be joining the BlueRevs next season,” the former NRL star said.
“Playing in the Japan League One has been a goal of mine and I’m excited that I get to join a top club like BlueRevs. I’m extremely motivated and will give my all to add to the team next season.
“I’m very much looking forward to my arrival in Japan and meeting my new team-mates and coaches and getting stuck into pre-season training. See you all soon!”
The centre is currently part of the Fiji squad that are preparing to take on Australia this weekend in Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium, which will be followed by a clash with Scotland at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
