Jordie Barrett Bio

Born 17 February 1997, Jordie Barrett is the youngest of four brothers. The other three, Beauden, Scott and Kane, also became professional rugby players.

Jordie Barrett’s professional career began in 2016, when he represented Canterbury for the first time. After just one season, he began to represent the Hurricanes in Super Rugby. Since 2020, he’s also made a couple of appearances for Taranaki

Upon signing a new contract extension with the New Zealand Rugby Union in 2024, Jordie Barrett exercised a contract option that allowed him to play overseas. When doing so, he signed a six-month contract with Leinster for the 2024-25 United Rugby Championship season. Towards the close of his season with the Irish province, he was nominated for the Champions Cup Player of the Year award. He concluded his sabbatical in Ireland by helping Leinster win the United Rugby Championship.

A force on the domestic stage, Jordie Barrett has reserved some of his finest performances for the All Blacks, where he’s often appeared alongside his brothers, Beauden and Scott. To date, he’s been capped more than 50 times by his country and has helped the All Blacks finish second and third at the Rugby World Cup (2023 and 2019 respectively).

Still young and with the world at his feet, we can’t wait to see what else Jordie Barrett can achieve on the world stage.
