Handre Pollard Bio

Handré Pollard was born on 11 March 1994, in Somerset West, South Africa. He excelled at the sport from a young age and earned a provincial call-up at primary school level. During his younger years, he also captained the SA Schools team at under 18 level.

Handré Pollard’s senior career began in 2013, when he made his first appearance for the Blue Bulls. Since then, he’s represented some of the world’s best domestic sides, including the Bulls, Red Hurricanes Osaka, Montpellier and Leicester Tigers. In 2025, he returned to the Bulls in the United Rugby Championship

Although he’s enjoyed a stellar career on the domestic stage, Handré Pollard is undoubtedly best known for his time with the Springboks. Since 2014, he’s played for his country on more than 80 occasions. During this time, he’s been an integral part of the squad that won back-to-back Rugby World Cups. In the 2023 final, he scored all 12 points for the Springboks as they edged past the All Blacks 12-11.

Handré Pollard still has several years of elite rugby ahead of him. We can’t wait to see what else he achieves before he hangs up his boots.
