England and Ireland stars dropped as Lions make 3 changes for the final Test

Head coach Andy Farrell has made three changes to his British & Irish Lions team, who are looking to whitewash the Wallabies in the third and final Test in Sydney this weekend.

Ireland wing James Lowe has dropped out of the 23, with Scotland and Toulouse star Blair Kinghorn taking the 11 jersey after featuring off the pine last weekend.

Ollie Chessum has been dropped to the bench as he makes way for Ireland’s James Ryan in the second row. Ryan impressed when he came off the bench in the second Test in Melbourne and locks down in the engine room alongside skipper Maro Itoje.

Farrell Snr has also gone for a 6-2 split on the bench, with Owen Farrell and Alex Mitchell having to provide cover for the entire back division.

Ben Earl is called back ino the 23, having missed the second Test.

“We have put ourselves in a great position to finish this Tour with our best performance to date and create our own piece of history,” said Farrell.

“Last weekend’s Test match in Melbourne was an incredible spectacle and illustrated how special Lions Tours are and what they mean to both the players and the supporters.

“We are expecting another epic battle this weekend against a Wallaby side that showed their quality last week.”

When the title said “England and Ireland stars dropped”, I was thinking, oh no, what did he do?😂 But no, thankfully there are 9 Ireland internationals in the starting line up and one on the bench. It's a strong team and a great bench. I predict this one won't be so close, a comfortable Lions win….though never trust a prediction ! Excellent article.
