Sione Tuipulotu Bio

Born in Victoria, Australia on 12 February 1997, Sione Tuipulotu represented Melbourne Rising before he made his debut for the Rebels in 2016. When he made his debut for the squad, he became their first ever ‘home-grown’ player.

However, Sione Tuipulotu never made a real impression with the Rebels and was limited to only 12 appearances for the side. As a result, after a brief stint in Japan with Shizuoka Blue Revs, he joined Glasgow Warriors in 2021.

Ever since, Sione Tuipulotu has enjoyed a hugely successful stint in Scotland, appearing for Glasgow Warriors more than 50 times and firmly establishing himself as one of the best centres in the northern hemisphere. He played in the final of the United Rugby Championship in 2024, as Glasgow Warriors defeated the Bulls to claim the title.

Sione Tuipulotu is qualified to play for Scotland via his grandmother. Immediately after signing for Glasgow Warriors, he was called up to the Scotland squad. He made his debut for the team in October 2021.

Since then, Sione Tuipulotu has been an ever-present in the side and has represented his adopted country in both the Six Nations Championship and at the Rugby World Cup. In 2024, he was named as the Scotland captain for the first time.

Due to his excellent play for both Glasgow Warriors and Scotland, Sione Tuipulotu was named in the 2025 British and Irish Lions squad.

With many of his best years in the game still ahead of him, we can’t wait to see what else Sione Tuipulotu can achieve for both Glasgow Warriors and Scotland.
