Tadhg Furlong Bio

Born 14 November 1992, Tadhg Furlong comes from a farming family. However, he began playing rugby at a young age. His power and skill were immediately noticed and he was signed by the Leinster Academy in his teenage years. After several impressive performances, he made his debut for the first XV in 2013.

Tadhg Furlong has played for Leinster ever since and has now appeared for the first XV more than 150 times. During this period, he's helped the side capture the Pro14 four times in a row (2018-21) and has also lifted the European Rugby Champions Cup. Added to this, despite not appearing in the final, Tadhg Furlong was an integral part of the Leinster side that won the United Rugby Championship in the 2024-25 season.

Unsurprisingly, thanks to his impressive performances for Leinster, Tadhg Furlong was called into the Ireland squad for the first time in 2015. Immediately after his debut, he was named in the Ireland squad for the Rugby World Cup. Since, he's been ever present for the side and he played an integral role in Ireland's 2018 and 2023 Six Nations Grand Slam victories.

Thanks to a string of impressive performances for Ireland, Tadhg Furlong has been a mainstay for the British and Irish Lions over the past decade. On both the 2017 and 2021 tours, he played in all three tests. He was once again named in the British and Irish Lions squad for the team’s 2025 tour of Australia

With many years of elite rugby ahead of him, we can't wait to see what else Tadhg Furlong can achieve in the game.
