Professional Standards
Players are required to take a professional approach to all aspects of our teams, both on and off the field. How we portray ourselves reflects both on the individual and the club as a whole.
Time keeping is very important. Times given are times we are required to depart and not assembly times, unless otherwise stated. Be ahead of times on all occasions.
Communication needs to be crystal clear. You must inform management if there are issues that may effect match day preparation so this can be catered for.

Dress Code
Standard of dress is particularly important for team image. Ensure that you wear the correct clothes at all times.
Training Jerseys to be worn at Training Sessions
Club Tracksuits worn to and before match fixtures
Club polo shirts, blue jeans and dress shoes after games.
Clean boots, shorts and socks for games.

Recent History
A new ethos of professionalism dawned at Rathdrum Rugby Club with the appointment of Senior Coach, Troy Maneana and Director of Rugby, Colin Todd at the start of the 2000/1 Season. The seniors, which had struggled through a number of lean years prior to the appointments, where also buoyed up by the first wave of the clubs fledgling youth structure coming through the ranks as well as a number of former players returning to the fold. That year saw the team more then hold its own and move up into the newly reformed Division 3. The highlight of the year saw the team narrowly beaten by a strong Kilkenny side in the J-2 Southeast final.

The next two seasons (2001/2 – 2002/3) saw the team finish mid table in Leinster League, Division 3. While results where only so-so the average age of the team was only 20-21 and there was evidence that it was only a matter of time before the team would find its rhythm. This was confirmed when we won the J-2 Southeast final beating a good Carlow team and elevating ourselves to J-1 status in the Southeast League.

A new found confidence was evident amongst the players and under the guidance of new Senior Coach, Jason Moreton and new Club Captain, Tom Moylan, the team won every game in Leinster League, Division 3 to secure the title and promotion to Division 2 in 2003/4. The next season saw the team finish 4th in Division 2.

Unfortunately with a number of key players leaving and Director of Rugby Colin Todd departing, new Senior Coach Jason Emery was given the impossible task of maintaining the team position in Division 2 but due to large numbers of injuries within an already depleted squad, the club made the plunge back to Division 3 in 2005/6.

With spirits low and concerns high, the club rallied together and a new Director of Rugby, David Fox was appointed and Senior Coach, Jason Emery was retained. Results followed and only an agonizing loss to Longford RFC on the final day of the season prevented promotion straight back to Division 2 in 2006/7. With the same structures in place and with Neil Short assuming the role of Captaincy, the team made no mistake the next season going undefeated for the entire season for the second time in its history.

This year sees the club take on the new challenge of an enlarged Division 2.
